Whispering Whiskers
Pet Spa
Question? Look here first!
These are the most frequently asked questions to date about Whispering Whiskers Pet Spa and how we operate.
F.A.Q
Why can't I call you?
We operate through text based communication only. Unless there is an emergency, we will not call. This is to ensure that information isn't lost between the owner or staff, and that we can maintain focus on our clients in the shop. Phone calls can be interrupted, turn lengthy, and vital information can be missed leading to miscommunication. Texts allow us to be more efficient overall.
How do I know when to pick up my dog?
We will text you within 30-60 minutes after your dog is dropped off to give you an update on how they're doing, concerns, updated quote, and what time for pick up.
How long will you have my dog?
Depending on their size, service, and behavior, they can take anywhere from an hour and 15 minutes to 3 hours.
Do you use crates?
Yes! Crates are used to keep clients from being in direct contact with each other and keep a safe barrier. Most of the time, your dog is being worked on (unless breaks are needed), and crates will be used at a minimum.
Do you use cage dryers?
Yes! However, unlike some other salons, we are in the same room to monitor your pups. They allow breaks from blow drying, especially if your pup isn't a fan of the forced air. Unfortunately, we cannot groom on a wet coat, so cage dryers help air dry your pet when needed.
What vaccinations do you require?
Rabies is required by state to be updated every 3 years. I do need your dogs' most recent rabies certificate. Otherwise, we require that your dog has at least had their core vaccines finished as puppies, and recommend to update them as needed.
Is the business insured?
Yes!
Can I stay in the salon while my dog is being groomed?
No. This is a liability and safety issue with us and your dog. It is greatly beneficial for dogs to learn trust and grow confident without you by their side. We are not only making a personal connection with you, but also with your dog as many of them will be coming to us for their lifetime. Please trust us, and know that we are guaranteed to be transparent with you! We don't hold back when it comes to concerns or issues, and we will look for a way to work with you and help your dog in situations when they find grooming to be a challenge.
Please believe me when I say that I understand that it's hard to leave your pup with a stranger, but we won't be strangers for long!
Do you do anal glands?
No. We believe that anal glands should be expressed at a vet's facility as it is an internal issue, and not something that we can see.
